South Eyre Sprints is a mini regatta that is organised prior to the CRNZ Canoe Sprint Nationals in order to provide an opportunity to learn and/or practise under regatta style conditions. This is intended to be a fun event, but is run in a manner that simulates, as closely as possible, regatta conditions to allow athletes to practise their pre-race, starting and race plan stategies in a low pressure environment.

The regatta is also open to surf clubs and waka paddlers with events for waka, surf ski, board paddling and swimming.

This is a fun day out for the family, with events designed to allow everyone to have a go. There will be barbeques available to cook on. Bring your own food for the day.

The event is held on an irrigation lake on South Eyre Road. As you travel west along South Eyre Road, the entrance is on the left 27.5km from Tram Road, just past Poyntzs Road and just before Harewood Road. There will be an Arawa Flag on the road side to indicate the entrance.

If you are interested in participating, Please Register on Webscorer to select the events you'd like to enter.

$5.00 per head will be collected by Steve Brett to cover the cost of venue hire. Please bring cash with you on the day.
