Since it's inception in 1967, Arawa has grown to become New Zealand's largest club dedicated to the sport of kayak racing.
Whatever your interest or experience in paddle sports, there is something at Arawa for you.
Te Arawa was one of the great ocean going, voyaging canoes in Maori traditions that was used in the migrations that settled New Zealand.
The Arawa Canoe Club Committee, is a committed and passionate group of volunteers, current and past paddlers, or family or athlete supporters.
The group meet monthly to discuss club activities, athlete support, racing and improvement projects, among things.
The Committee volunteers are elected at the Annual General Meeting.
Arawa Canoe Club offers a home for kayaking.
We are an active member of the watersport community sharing the Avon River with Rowing, Dragon Boating, Waka Ama and many other paddle based sports.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The Arawa Canoe Club AGM is normally held in May each year. All members are invited and encouraged to attend.

The Arawa Shark logo appeared on early club correspondence. We'd like to confirm it's origin and credit the artist who was responsible for it's design. If you can shed any light on this please let us know.
